Semantic Information Processing and AI foundations

Abstract: AI foundation has been built on the simulation of human behavior for more than half century. At least 85 topics will be discussed in PRICAI. So it is time to examine the view of simulation now if no one can be sure AI foundations are firm or not.

    According to many practices and the theory on Co-Intelligence (CI) that means Artificial Intelligence (AI) combined with Human Intelligence (HI), at least three points should be emphasized.

(1) AI is quite different to HI on that the systems of the expressions (including mathematics and linguistics) not just the bodies (including physiology and physics) possessed by Digital Computers and Natural Persons are varied. So both sides of Software Engineering (SE) and Computer Aid (CA) should be optimized or should be done with Human Computer Interaction (HCI).

(2) Persons are accustomed to Mother Tongue and Decimal System along with Pure and Visual Systems. So Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Knowledge Engineering (KE) also should be optimized. Some principles will be improved too much..

(3) Computers merely distinguish from Binary System and its equivalent. Strategy of Data Quality Management (DQM) will be improved.

On the assumption that you the readers understand the points mentioned above, than we can think more questions thereinafter.

If you agree to that Intelligence means Semantic Information Processing, then the focus would be concentrated on Information.

If you agree to that Information means unknowing phenomena that formally can be changed into digital form, on content can be understood as concepts and elements in knowledge systems, essentially can be described in a bit- list way that shows your opinion in Semantic Cube which can be separated in one’s Mind or in Semantic Web, then the focus should be concentrated on Semantic System.

If you agree to that Semantic Information means that Knowledge should not be dug out of Data (namely I = D - K, it means that the unknown parts equal to the total parts subtracting the Known parts), then the focus should be on Processing.

The conclusion would be that Semantic Information Equation along with Cube and Processing should be one of AI foundations. It means DQM and KE in the best way of CI which is much improved on HCI or SE and CA.
